In 2024 AB Mauri Brazil launched a transformative partnership with the NGO Amigos do Bem to tackle hunger and improve living conditions in Brazil's impoverished northeastern hinterland. The partnership focuses on generating work and income opportunities in the region while combating food insecurity, by leveraging AB Mauri Brazil’s extensive distribution network, free of profit margin, to help expand the reach of Amigo do Bem’s cashew nut growing project. By helping to distribute cashews grown by Amigos do Bem’s beneficiaries to sell through supermarkets and food retailers across Brazil, AB Mauri Brazil will contribute to both local income generation and the NGO’s broader mission of social development.

Amigos do Bem has been operating for 30 years, serving over 150,000 people monthly in 300 villages in the states of Alagoas, Pernambuco, and Ceará. Its projects encompass education, job creation, water access, healthcare, and housing. The partnership will help increase business volume and income for local communities, as AB Mauri Brazil will sell cashews without a profit margin, reinvesting in the region's development.  This collaboration reflects AB Mauri Brazil’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, aligning with its ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals. By supporting Amigos do Bem’s sustainable development model, the partnership aims to foster long-term change in the lives of those most in need.
